Stockport Georgians AFC
Cromley Road Ground |
Stockport Georgians are a non-league club who compete in the North West Counties Football League First Division South. They were formed in 1908 and have a connection with St George's Church, hence the name. Qualification for membership of the football club was "attendance at Divine Worship held in St. George's Church or membership of the Men's Bible Class." In 1987 the Georgians amalgamated with Adswood Amateurs. The new club won the Manchester Football League in 1987-88, 2001-2002 and again in 2014-2015. They were promoted to the North West Counties League in 2022.
They play their home games at the pretty and family-friendly Cromley Road (Flowery Field) in Woodsmoor. There is a clubhouse with excellent food plus a range of drinks.
